The team supports the translation of the University’s research portfolio into commercial solutions.
Commercialisation of technology
The team have extensive experience supporting researchers with commercialisation and provide support with undertaking due diligence, market assessments, leading on commercial licence negotiations with external parties and supporting company formation.
Translational funding
Translational funding is an important tool in bridging the gap between early-stage technologies and commercialisation and the team can help with applications for development and translation funding.
IP portfolio management
The team manage the University IP portfolio and work closely with licensees on IP strategies for licenced patents and know how. The team can also help by providing advice on a range of IP matters including copyright, design rights, patents and trademarks and they can help with patent applications and patent prosecution. Post-deal management
The team manage post-agreement compliance for all deals relating to IP, including assignations, options, material transfer agreements, inter-institutional agreements and licenses. Management activities include:
- patent and legal cost tracking
- patent cost recovery
- activity reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- income distribution
- financial reporting
