Facilities
State-of-the-art resources and infrastructure
Our Eden Campus is set up for technology developers and innovating companies. For change makers and bold thinkers.
When you partner with us, you get access to state-of-the-art facilities that help you test, prototype and develop. Solve key technical challenges, increase product performance, and improve business operations. Take advantage of state-of-the-art materials characterisation equipment and our expert technicians.
Colin Vincent Centre for Battery Technology
A state‑of‑the‑art facility centred around a 120 m² ultra‑low‑humidity dry room, critical for handling sensitive lithium‑ and sodium‑ion chemistries, the facility supports full‑spectrum pouch‑cell manufacturing, from electrode slurry preparation and coating to cell assembly, formation and performance testing. Its adaptable production line incorporates advanced equipment such as roll‑to‑roll calendering, precision cutting, Z‑fold stacking and controlled electrolyte filling, allowing researchers and industry partners to scale innovative chemistries from lab concepts to production‑ready cells.
Fuel Cell Development and Production Suite
A suite of clean, dust‑free laboratory spaces designed for end‑to‑end hydrogen fuel cell development, encompassing dedicated processing and precision printing rooms alongside supporting workshops and the Rapid Prototyping Centre. Its advanced capabilities include large‑scale ceramic material synthesis, commercial‑grade slurry and ink formulation, and high‑accuracy electrochemical cell printing, all underpinned by specialised equipment such as an automatic screen printer for high‑volume fabrication, a belt oven for controlled thermal processing, and a spray dryer for scalable ceramic powder production. These facilities enable full process development and optimisation for fuel cell and electrolysis technologies, complemented by characterisation tools including SEM and particle‑size analysis, creating a comprehensive environment for both research and industrial collaboration.
Rapid Prototyping Centre
A state‑of‑the‑art digital design, fabrication and testing capabilities to accelerate the development of physical prototypes across sectors ranging from energy systems to medical devices and robotics. Equipped with CAD workstations, multi‑platform 3D printing (FDM, SLA and SLS), laser cutting and engraving, CNC milling, thermoforming, resin casting and comprehensive metalworking tools, the centre supports both additive and subtractive manufacturing workflows. Its electronics assembly stations, metrology tools and environmental testing chambers enable full integration and validation of prototype components, while its collaborative model offers access for university researchers, industry partners, entrepreneurs and spinouts seeking rapid iteration and early‑stage hardware development.
