Unlock Innovation with Flexible Funding Support
The Scottish Funding Council provides the University of St Andrews with an Innovation Fund to support and amplify groundbreaking ideas originating from research.
To harness this opportunity, the University has established the Innovation Funding Support initiative. This programme offers financial assistance to cover costs associated with services such as design, 3D printing, or PCB work within the Rapid Prototyping Centre (RPC) at Eden Campus.
Have a groundbreaking idea but need financial support to bring it to life? Our Innovation Funding Support initiative can help!
Backed by the Scottish Funding Council, the University of St Andrews Innovation Fund is designed to support and accelerate cutting-edge ideas emerging from research. Through the Innovation Funding Support initiative, researchers can access financial assistance to cover essential prototyping and design costs, including 3D printing, PCB development, and other services available at the Rapid Prototyping Centre (RPC) at Eden Campus.
This funding ensures that promising ideas don’t just remain concepts – they get the practical support needed to move from research to reality.
How it works
Eligible staff and students are invited to submit innovative ideas or project proposals for assessment. ,each submission will be evaluated based on its potential impact and feasibility.
Once approved, the RPC will provide a cost estimate for the required work, and funding will be allocated accordingly.
Innovation Funding Support is available to University of St Andrews staff and students.
How to Apply
University employees and current students can apply by submitting a short online form.
